How do I know if my idea is TEDx worthy?

How do you know if your idea is ready for the TEDx stage?

Well, does your idea...

🔲 Present something radically new
🔲 Showcase fresh approaches to enduring problems
🔲 Challenge our conceptions about what’s possible
🔲 Expose us to cutting-edge research, technology or design
🔲 Energetically redefine the human experience

If you answered YES to any of these, then you have a TEDx worthy idea.

TEDx organizers want to hear new ideas and specifically, YOUR angle on it. But if you’re not sure, there’s a really easy way to double check-

Search the goog or your LLM of choice for any TED or TEDx talks about your idea or similar topics
- What’s been said before?
- What HASN'T been said?
- Where are the gaps?
- Whose voice hasn't been heard?

If there's nothing out there at all then you should get applying right now!

If there’s a talk on exactly what you wanted to say with a million views, then you probably need to find another angle.

Most likely, there are some talks out there that are on a similar topic with between 100-10,000 views over the last twenty years. Ask yourself again, is my perspective really different from these? If the answer is Yes, then your idea is worthy of that stage!
