Day #5 - The speaker toolkit

It’s day #5 of becoming a speaker- it’s go time!!

Here’s a few things you’ll need in your speaker application tool kit:

#1 💡 The speaker one-sheet- essentially your speaker resume.

A quick google will bring you tons of great templates.

Remember- your one-sheet isn’t just about your topics & credentials, it’s your opportunity to demonstrate what sets you apart:
- What are you going to SAY? (not just topics you will talk about)
- Why are you the expert?
- Why is your perspective relevant?
- Why is your talk new/ different/ unique?

Demonstrate that you know the audience:
- Why this audience needs to hear from YOU
- What the benefits are of hiring you-  for leadership, employees and the organization as a whole

#2 📢 Evidence.

Testimonials are currency & specificity is key.

Do you have evidence that your speaking accomplishes the outcomes you promise?

If you don’t have testimonials yet, use other recommendations for your work.

#3 👩‍🎤 Headshots and photos of you speaking on stage. Look awesome doing your thing.

#4 💃 Sizzle Reel - A quick 1-2 minute video of your speaking highlights.

You want organizers to get a feel not just for your ideas & your style, but who you are as a person and presenter.

Bring your personality! Tell a story, keep it short & snappy and make the audience (event organizers!) feel something- excitement, joy, intrigue

Do you have to have a sizzle reel when you’re starting out?

No. I know plenty speakers who don’t, but if you're planning to make speaking a significant part of your business, it’s a really valuable resource to create.

I can’t wait to hear about your speaking adventures.

I believe in you!

Keep me posted on your progress and get in touch if you need further support!
